Ervin Theodore Ray, 78, of Hancock, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born July 14, 1940 in Hancock, he was the son of the late Theodore and Hazel Hull Ray.

He worked for many years for C. William Hetzer, Inc. and also self-employed for many years.

He liked hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irene Peck Ray, Hancock; three daughters, Debbie Timmons, Hagerstown, Cindy Cain, Berkeley Springs and Peggy Wright, Rockwood, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leroy Ray, Melbourne, Fla., Enos Ray, Hancock, Jerry Ray, Hancock and James Ray, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Rosalie McNeer, Pipestem, W.Va. and Carolyn Keefer, Falling Waters, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, December 19 from 12 until 2 p.m. at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 13642 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., officiated by his brother, Enos Ray.

Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
