Emogene V. Yost
1927-2019
Emogene Viola “Gene” Yost, 92, of Berkeley Springs, formerly of Whitacre, Va., died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the War Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, Berkeley Springs.
She was born on May 23, 1927 in Cross Junction, Va., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Millie Crouse Miller.
She was a seasonal worker for National Fruit, Shenandoah Apple and Zeropack, Winchester, Va.
She was a member of the Timber Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, Cross Junction.
She liked gardening and attending different churches.
She married Cleveland E. “Eddie” Yost on March 3, 1943. He died on March 29, 2001.
Surviving are three sons, Earl “Red” Yost, Cleveland “Mutch” Yost, both of Berkeley Springs and Douglas “Doug” Yost, Uniontown, Pa.; two daughters, Barbara “Bobby” Wilson and F. Diane Ganoe, both of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Virginia Fredman, Whitacre; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harry Yost; one sister, Ann Miller; six brothers; one grandson and one granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory, Capon Bridge, today, Wednesday, September 25 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Palmer. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-1:30 p.m.
