Edward E. Norris

1932-2018

Edward Eugene Norris, 85, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, W.Va.

Born July 14, 1932, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Eugene Henry and Alberta Grace Pittman Norris.

A graduate of Hancock High School, class of 1951, he served in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

He worked as a traffic engineer, State of Maryland Highway Administration for 38 years.

He was a past Chairman of Washington County, Maryland’s Children’s Village, past Chairman of Washington County Traffic Advisory Committee, past President of Berkeley County, WV Isaac Walton League of America, member of Post 202, Funkstown, Md. American Legion, Martinsburg, W.Va. Elks and Mercersburg, Pa. Sportsmen’s Club.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara L. Cross Norris; one daughter, Beth Wayne; one granddaughter, Elyssa Wayne and one sister, Alberta Wink, Tarpon Springs, Fla.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eldena Youngblood and Patricia Shank.

A memorial service was held Sunday, May 20 at Rosedale Funeral Home.
