1942-2019

Earl James Fletcher, age 77, of Little Orleans, Md., passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Born February 11, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Earl Philip and Loretta (Bennett) Fletcher.

He was a 1960 graduate of Kenwood High School, in Baltimore County, Md., and he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1962 until 1968.

Earl began a 36-year career with A&P Grocery Stores, in Essex, Md., and he retired from the Hancock, Md., store. After his retirement from A&P, he delivered parts to Grove Mfg. from Lufasco, Inc., and he also drove a school bus locally.

He attended the Buck Valley Christian Church, where he was a member of the Sunday evening Men’s Bible Study.

He enjoyed working on many projects, such as repairing small engines, home remodeling, gardening and travel, and he got a lot of pleasure when he could be a help to his family and friends.

Earl is survived by his wife, Joyce Fletcher; a daughter, Kara Cottle and her husband, Jami, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a son, Bryan Fletcher and his wife, Toni, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandsons, Cody Cottle and Paul Fletcher.

Funeral services were held at the Buck Valley Christian Church, in Warfordsburg, Pa., on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 11 a.m. Pastor Bill J. Croteau officiated. Burial followed in the adjoining Church cemetery.

The family received friends at the Church on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 5 until 7 p.m., and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral services.
