1933-2021

Dorothy Lucille Johnson, age 88, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born January 10, 1933, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. and Edith (Divel) Flowers; and the companion of Ray Adlesburger, of Needmore, Pa.

She was a seamstress for Londontown Mfg., in Hancock, for over 20 years.

She attended Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, in Hancock.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Steven L. Johnson and his partner, Barbara A. Deneen, of Hancock; a daughter, Pamela K. Shaw, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Douglas Shaw, Jamie Shaw and his wife, Leah, and Cody Shaw and his wife, Tiffany; three great-granddaughters, Sophie, Madison, and Lucille; and a brother, Robert Flowers, of Hancock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Catherine Fritz, Mabel Waugh, Geraldine McCormick, Edna Divelbliss, Helen Goodrich, and Diane Montgomery; and two brothers, James and Charles Flowers.

The family will receive friends at the Hancock United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 after which a private funeral service will be held for family only, with Pastor Becki Wessinger officiating. Private burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Hancock United Methodist Church, 170 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
