Donald L. Gray, Sr.
1954-2019
Donald Linwood “Punky” Gray, Sr., 64, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his home.
Born June 19, 1954 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Oscar C. and Nellie Catherine Butts Gray.
He had attended the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ.
He went to Berkeley Springs High School, then worked at Commercial Shearing and Eddie’s Tire Service, both of Berkeley Springs.
He liked fishing, antiquing and was an avid collector.
He is survived by his children, Donald Gray, Jr. and Eric Gray, both of Berkeley Springs and Erica Simpson, Gerrardstown; two grandchildren, Iris Lockhart, Gerrardstown and Ethan Gray, Berkeley Springs; several sisters and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 10 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Rev. William C. Swope officiated.
Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
