Donald Junior Harper, 83, of Hancock, Md. passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, Md.

He was born on December 31, 1935 in Hagerstown, Md. to the late Richard Raymond and Mildred Catherine Hasting Harper.

Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in Korea.

He was a long distance truck driver for over 40 years and logged five million miles accident free. He retired from Ewing Oil and he also worked as a Carpenter at Brandt Cabinet Works in Hagerstown, Md.

He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing horseshoes, teaching Sunday School which he did for several years and reading the Bible. He also loved listening to gospel music which was a great inspirational comfort to him.

Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Frances Blackburn Harper to whom he married on February 11, 1956; daughter Donna Ellen Orndoff of Hagerstown, Md.; daughter Mary Kay Howard and her husband Nick of Hancock, Md.; son Richard Donald Harper and his wife Bernadette of Fairplay, Md.; grandsons Brandon Howard, Michael Orndoff and Ryan Harper; granddaughters Amanda Howard, Laurie Hurd, and Ashley Harper; great grandson Nathan Hurd; sisters Angela Ryce of Hagerstown, Md.; sister Patsy Henson of Hagerstown, Md.

He was predeceased by a son Edward Wayne Harper; brothers Robert Harper, Edward Harper, Ernest Harper, George Harper, Harold Harper and Carl Harper; sister Mary Jane Armstrong.

Services were held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport, Md. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating. Interment was in Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool, Md. Military honors were provided by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
