The Paw Paw High School Pirates Boys and Girls Cross Country Team was back in action this past week as they participated in the 59th Potomac Valley Conference championships held at Keyser High School. The Pirates did not register a team score due to not having a full roster, but their sophomore running star Dominic Tanouye had an impressive fifth place finish with a time of 18:58.
Paw Paw also had two other runners finish in the top 50. Coby Ridgeway was 38th place with a time of 22:34 and Dylan Moreland was 46th with a time of 23:37.
The Paw Paw Cross Country Team traveled to Bishop Walsh to participate in the SSMAC (Small Schools Athletic Conference) cross country championships on Friday, October 12.
Tanouye once again showed why he is one of the area’s top runners as he won the boys race in a dominant performance.
The Pirates also had a second runner in the top 10 as Moreland finished in sixth place.
On the girls side Marissa Moreland finished in 10th place for the Pirates.
Next up for Paw Paw is the Class A/AA Region I Championships that will be held this Thursday, October 18 at St. Mary’s High School.
