Dolores I. Reed
1933-2020
Dolores Irene (Albanese) Reed, 86, of Clear Spring, Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 23, 2020 after a brave and long battle with cancer.
Born November 19, 1933 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Nicola Albanese and Rose Lee (Keller) Albanese.
She graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 1952.
Dolly was a stay at home mother and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed hosting gatherings so that she could spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William E. Reed, Sr.; her daughters Patricia Morris of Hagerstown, Md., Anita Watson (Ray) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Melissa Carbaugh of Westmont, Ill.; grandchildren Jolene Hilyard (Geoff), Tracey Reed (grand-pup Blanca), Angela Morris, Diane Reed, Harry Reed, Sarah Watson, Matthew Carbaugh, Megan Carbaugh and Mitchell Carbaugh; great-grandchildren Angel, Kat, Xander, Pami, Blaze, Aesis, Lily, Jaxson, Alexis and Damon and great-great grandson Jacob.
She was preceded in death by one son William E. Reed, Jr. (Debby) and brothers Frank, Richard, Fred and Harry Albanese and sisters Marie Albanese and Virginia (Albanese) Luttrell.
A small private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742 or monetary donations to help with medical and funeral expenses.
