Dennis K. Heffner, Sr.
1942-2018
Dennis Keith “Butch” Heffner, Sr. age 75, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., formerly of Street, Md., died on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born December 31, 1942 in Brooklyn Park, Md., he was the son of the late Michael George, Sr. and Tyyne Elina Kyrola Heffner.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Butch was a graduate of Brooklyn Park High School and served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He retired from the assembly line of Johnson Controls in Belcamp, Md.
He was an avid Ravens fan and enjoyed playing cards, fishing and socializing.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Susan Elizabeth Schaeffer Heffner, at home; his children, Denise Kimberly Burhans of Street, Md., and Dennis Keith Heffner, Jr. and his life partner, Judy Streeb of BelAir, Md.; one sister, June Neff of Sykesville, Md.; one brother, Michael Heffner, Jr. of Pasadena, Md.; five grandchildren, Brandon Keith Heffner and his wife Emily of Street, Md., Timothy Scott Burhans, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Wanda Elizabeth Walker of Glen Burnie, Md., Charles Lee Walker, Jr. of Street, Md., and Shane Alexander Jennings of Lusby, Md.; three great grandchildren, Delaney, Lucas and Riley Heffner, all of Street, Md., and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of friends at noon on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at American Legion Slate Ridge Post #182, 2217 Whiteford Road, Whiteford, Md.
Interment will be private.
