Delma Josephine Carnell, age 95, of Hancock, Md., died on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Farhney Keedy Home, in Boonsboro, Md.

Born March 8, 1923, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruie (Hendershot) Ward; and the widow of Thurman Howard Carnell, who died on January 19, 1985.

She was a member of the Berkey Church of the Brethren, in Windber, Pa.

Delma is survived by two sons, Charles H. Carnell and his wife, Carol, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Robert E. Carnell, of McConnellsburg, Pa.; a brother, Richard Ward and his wife, Rosalie, of Hancock, Md.; a sister, Mary Jean Young, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Thurman E., James C. and John M. Carnell; two grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 4 until 7:00 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

The funeral services will be held at the Berkey Church of the Brethren, 1038 Church Drive, Windber, Pa., at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Pastors Nathan Crissman and Earl Crissman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
