David N. Darling

1942-2019

David Nathan Darling, 76, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Berkeley Springs Center and Rehabilitation.

He was born in 1942 in Haverill, Mass.

Dave grew up in Danbury, Conn., graduated from Danbury High School and attended Longwood College, Pa.

He was the son of the late Katherine and Warren Darling.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of 50 years and his brother, Peter N. Darling, of Newtown, Conn.; his nephews, Stephen D. Darling of Harrisburg, N.C. and Gregory S. Darling of Brooklyn, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy D. Wilmot of Naugatuck, Conn.

He was a United States Navy veteran, stationed in Providence, R. I., where he was an air traffic control specialist. After leaving the military he was hired by the Federal Aviation Agency as an air traffic controller at ATC Center, Leesburg, Va. for 25 years.

He retired to Berkeley Springs in 1995.

He then worked at the Sideling Hill Welcome Center at Sideling Hill, Md. for many years.

His favorite pastime was cooking which his friends and family greatly enjoyed.

His family is requesting no flowers but donations may be made to Humane Society of Morgan County.

His memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Berkeley Springs on Friday, July 19, 2019 at noon.
