Darwin L. Woolford

1949-2019

Darwin Lee Woolford, 70, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.

Born January 3, 1949 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Elmer Cecil and Margaret Eleanor Challou Woolford.

He was a Christian.

He graduated from Lansdowne High School in Baltimore and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He had worked as a welder with the National Park Service at Antietam Battlefield, as a counselor at Pine Valley Group Home in Berkeley Springs and as a cook at the Timber Ridge School in Cross Junction, Va.

He liked fishing.

Surviving are his fiancee, Donna Kay Perry, Berkeley Springs; his children, Hope Cuffley, Glen Burnie, Md., Wesley Woolford, Warfordsburg, Pa., Jeremy Woolford, McConnellsburg, Pa., Jennifer Calloway, Hagerstown, Md., Joshua Trumpower, Waynesboro, Pa., Renee Young, Berkeley Springs and Amanda Jenkins, Inwood; one sister, Kathleen Roe, Kalispell, Mont.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Woolford and Albert Woolford.

Services and interment will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
