Darrell F. Selby
1929-2019
Darrell Frederick “Bill” Selby, 90, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, September 16, 2019 at the War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
He was born on March 20, 1929 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Frederick B. and Annie Meads Selby.
He worked as a service repairman for Solon Washer & Dryer Repair in Baltimore and a veteran in the United States Navy.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #60 and attended the Union Chapel United Methodist Church both in Berkeley Springs.
He liked the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, going to McDonald’s and traveling to Rehoboth Beach, Del.
He married his first wife, Nora Selby, who died November 17, 2001. He married his second wife Donna J. Oates Biggert Selby on December 7, 2002 in Berkeley Springs. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Selby, Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Robin Hawkland, Sykesville, Md., Joanne Seabrease and Susan Selby, both of Catonsville, Md.; two step-daughters, Annette Webb, Inwood and Denise Kane, Palm Dale, Calif.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life was held at Union Chapel of United Methodist Church, Saturday, September 21. Pastor Michael Leedom officiated. Inurnment was private.
