Berkeley Springs High School students moved back to remote learning today, Friday, March 19 due to two confirmed student cases of COVID-19. School officials posted on social media Friday night that that contact tracing for one of the students had been completed on Friday, but that they had just been notified of the second COVID-19 case.
To properly complete contact tracing, Berkeley Springs High School is operating under remote learning for Friday, March 19. Officials are currently planning for students to return to in-person schooling at the high school on Monday, March 22.
If anything changes with the Monday return to in-school learning, it will be communicated on Sunday.
“This applies to Berkeley Springs High School only. All other schools will operate as normal,” the posting noted. No athletic practices or events are scheduled for Friday, March 19.
Parents were told in the notification that if their child was determined to be a close contact of one of these students that tested positive, they would be contacted by the lead school nurse on behalf of the Morgan County Health Department.
