Celebrating the Fourth

Local events are set for the 4th of July around Morgan County.

Berkeley Springs

The 2019 Fourth of July will be celebrated in Berkeley Springs with a free fireworks display on Wednesday, July 3 on Widmyer Elementary School grounds at dark.

This year, vendors will sell sandwiches, drinks and funnel cakes in the school parking area, according to the Travel Berkeley Springs flyer.

On July 4, activities at Cacapon State Park include a Community Band Patriotic Celebration at 1 p.m., patriotic craft projects to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Nature Center, campfire at 7:30 p.m. and a glow stick walk at 9 p.m. Call 304-258-1022 for information.

Paw Paw

The annual Bethel United Methodist Church 4th of July picnic will be held on Thursday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the church picnic grounds at the junction of Bethel Road and Spring Gap Road between Paw Paw and Slanesville.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, soup, ice cream and homemade pies are for sale.

Bake sale, yard sale, and auction at 1 p.m. Open to public. Call Brittany Abe at 304-492-5773 for information.

The Paw Paw 4th of July Festival will not be held this year.
