CDC provides cloth face mask guidance

The Centers for Disease Control has now said individual use of cloth face masks, even those made at home, can be helpful in slowing the spread of the highly-contagious coronavirus, which causes the respiratory disease known as COVID-19.

There is a nationwide push to supply the necessary commercially-made masks to medical staff who need them to treat patients with COVID-19. Officials are urging that N95 masks be reserved for those in medical settings and emergency first responders.

Individuals can make their own protective masks from materials found in most homes. Wearing the cloth masks can add a layer of protection when the public must make necessary trips out of their homes to get food or medicine or medical care.
