Carl W. Gloyd
1954-2019
Carl William “Pooch” Gloyd, 64, of Paw Paw, died Saturday, May 18, 2019.
He was born on November 22, 1954 in Paw Paw, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Ione Cowgill Gloyd.
He liked farming, cutting wood, auctions and coin collecting.
Surviving are his three brothers, Charles Gloyd, Gore, Va., Carroll Gloyd, Paw Paw and Robert Gloyd, Cross Junction, Va.; eight sisters, Shirley Cleaver, Burlington, Fay Tenney, Bloomery, Lois McDonald, Ridgeley, Jean McDonald and Sharon Gregory, both of Elliston, Va., Tena Gloyd-Baker, Winchester, Va., Linda Zaragoza, Cross Junction and Donna Athey, Paw Paw and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Gloyd.
A funeral service was held at Bethel United Methodist Church near Paw Paw Thursday, May 23. Pastors Ted Heckert and Carolyn Martin officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
