Bypass comments due by April 1

Public comments need to be submitted by Monday, April 1 regarding the proposed U.S. 522 Berkeley Springs Bypass that reflect the changes made by the West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH).

The proposed changes were presented at a workshop meeting by DOH representatives on April 19 at Berkeley Springs High School.

The bypass changes include revised intersections at the southern and northern end connections to U.S. 522, and the elimination of the at-grade intersection at Myers Road.

Public comments can be submitted online at http://go.wv.gov/dotcomment. Click on the blue tab “Engineering Projects,” then click “Open,” then click on “US 522-Berkeley Springs Bypass and Fairview Connector.”

Comments may also be mailed to: Mr. R.J. Scites, P.E., Director, Engineering Div., West Virginia Division of Highways, 1334 Smith St., Charleston, WV 25301.

On Monday, about 100 comments had been received so far, said Sondra Mullins of the DOH office in Charleston.
