1943-2019

Bianca Maria Bohrer, age 76, of Venice, Fla., passed away on November 2, 2019.

She was born in Falconara, Albanese, Italy on September 29, 1943 to Rosario and Giuseppina Pesce Lombardo.

Bianca was raised in Italy and Tripoli, Libya earning post-secondary degrees in languages; Italian, French, Arabic, Spanish, English and Portuguese. She arrived in the United States in 1962 and became a U.S. citizen in 1974. B

ianca worked as a translator for the Italian Embassy in Washington for two years. She worked for several airlines, TWA for 5 years and Air France for 4 months, before a 31-year career with Delta Airlines at Regan Washington National and Washington Dulles airports. On temporary duty for Delta, Bianca assisted with passenger service for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1998 for the opening of the Delta station at their airport.

Bianca accumulated many customer service awards from Delta during her career. In 1985 she received a Hospitality Award from Washington, D.C. Convention Center and Visitor’s Bureau. In 1978, Bianca appeared in a Delta Airlines advertisement that appeared in major newspapers and magazines. Also, in 1978, she was appointed Honorary Lt. Col. Aide-de-Camp in the Alabama State Militia. The US Secret Service presented Bianca with numerous thank-you letters for the service, assistance and cooperation she provided.

She retired in 2000 and moved to Florida from Vienna, Va. Once she arrived in Florida, she worked for 10 years with American Realty of Venice.

Surviving family members include her sister, Maria Tims of Venice, Fla.; nieces Gina Biller of Kearneysville, W.Va., Antonella Cutarelli and Stefania Cappioli, both of Ostia Lido, Roma, Italy; nephews Jim Schornagel of Fredericksburg, Va., Scott Bohrer and Philip Bohrer, both of Needmore, Pa., and Robert Bohrer of Missoula, Mont.; nieces Jennifer Smith of Needmore, Pa., and Charla Weaver of Greencastle, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Pino Lombardo, Marcello Lombardo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
