Betty J. Bartlett
1935-2019
Betty Joanne Bartlett, 83, of Hancock, died on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born Saturday, September 21, 1935, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Shoemaker Hiles and the widow of Davd Elliott Bartlett, who died on January 23, 2018.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs and was a volunteer at the Martinsburg, W.Va. VA.
She was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, in Hancock and the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 Auxiliary in Hancock.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hendershot, Hancock and Debbie Swindell, Needmore, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Reed, Ryan Hendershot, Amber Bartlett and Josh Reed; three great-grandchildren and one niece.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dave Bartlett; one brother, Glen Hiles and one sister, Delores Morris.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 13642 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock on Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m. Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are handled by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
