Berkeley Springs tennis keeps on winning

The Berkeley Springs High School Indians Boys and Girls Tennis programs continue their strong spring play with victories over Petersburg, Wheeling Central and Oak Glen this past week.

On the boys side the Tribe defeated Petersburg, 5-2 last Tuesday, March 26. Earning singles wins for Berkeley Springs were Matthew Rubeck (#2 singles), Dylan Carder (#3 singles) and Ben Michael (#4 singles). In doubles action #1 doubles Haden Fincham/Rubeck picked up wins as did #2 doubles Carder/Michael.
At the Wheeling trip on March 29 and 30  the Indians won over Wheeling 6-1. In singles competition Fincham (#1 singles), Rubeck, Carder and Michael all won. The doubles team of Fincham/Rubeck and Carder/Michael all picked up wins.
The Tribe defeated Oak Glen, 6-1. In singles competition Fincham, Rubeck, Carder and Michael all won. The doubles team of Fincham/Rubeck and Carder/Michael all picked up wins.
On the girls side, the Lady Indians defeated Petersburg, Whe

eling Central and Oak Glen all by the scores of 5-2.
Picking up wins against Petersburg in singles competition were Dalas Carder (#1 singles), Leah Reed (#2 singles) and Natalie Hashem (#3 singles). Picking up doubles wins were #1 doubles  Carder/Hashem and #2 doubles Reed/Kennedy Shives.
At Wheeling Central, Reed, Hashem and Shives all won their singles matches. Number two doubles partners Reed/Shives and the number three doubles of Nicole Develing and Sam Herbst won their doubles matches.
In the win against Oak Glen picking up wins were Carder, Reed and Hashem. Number one doubles Carder/Hashem and number two doubles Reed/Shives won their doubles matches.
The team will travel to play St. James, Moorefield and St. Mary’s this week.
