Belle Harvey captures Wet and Wild Invitational Championship

Both girls and boys teams finish third

This past weekend The Berkeley Springs High School Cross Country Team ventured to Cameron last weekend to participate in the Wet and Wild Invitational hosted by Cameron High School. The event which featured 12 teams was held on Saturday, September 29.
The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians, powered by another Belle Harvey championship run, took third place in the team standings. Linsley High School (46 points), Charleston Catholic (61 points) and Berkeley Springs (76 points) were the top three teams.
The Lady Indians were led by their top runner sophomore Belle Harvey. Harvey took top honors once again this week with a winning time of 22:13. Fellow sophomore Taylor Mason was sixth with a time of 23:56. Junior Hannah Moran was 27th with a time of 27:31, while seniors Brooke Davison (28th place, 27:35) and Alex Banks (33rd place, 28:03) gave Berkeley Springs five runners in the top 26.
On the boys side, the Indians finished in third place in the team standings with 96 points. North Marion took the top team honors with 34 points while John Marshall was second with 80 points.
The Indians were led by senior Jeremiah Torres who finished in 17th place with a time of 21:43. Freshman Jacob Rough was 24th with a time of 22:16. Josiah Kowalski (26th place, 22:37), Dylan Wise (29th place, 23:21) and Landen Riggleman (36th place, 23:40) rounded out the top runners for Berkeley Springs.
Next up for Berkeley Springs is the Potomac Valley Conference Championships on Tuesday, October 9  at 4  p.m. at Frankfort High School.
