Barbara J. Heise
1934-2018
Barbara Jean Heise, 83, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Born September 19, 1934 in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Margaret Stommel Schorn.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.
She was a graduate from Shrine of the Little Flower High School in Royal Oak, Mich.
She was a professional opera singer with the Detroit Opera Company, she was a secretary for different law office in Detroit and in recent years was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Steven Heise, Bedford, Pa., Diane Liska, Irwin, Pa., Janice Miko, Los Alamos, N.M., Michael Heise, Martinsburg, John Heise, Tunnelton, Suzanne Maloney, Lolo, Mont.; two sisters, Mary Schorn and Christine Kennedy; seven grandchildren, Andrew Heise, Emily Liska, Joshua Miko, Rebecca Miko, Amy Heise, Christopher Maloney, Elsie Maloney and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Heise on June 12, 2018; one son, Richard Heise and three brothers, Paul Schorn, Robert Schorn and William Schorn.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday, August 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith was celebrant. Burial was in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
