Barbara A. Spitzer

1943-2019

Barbara Ann Spitzer, age 75, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born September 13, 1943 at her home in Berkeley Springs, WV ten days after her father was drafted into the U.S. Army for World War II, she was the daughter of the late John Brewer and Grace Belle Stotler Spitzer.

She is a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

Barbara retired as a computer analyst with the IRS in Martinsburg, WV and in recent years she worked at War Memorial Hospital, Winchester Medical Center and the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

She was a member of the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Auxiliary Unit #60, Morningside CEOS and she was on the Morgan County Special Olympics board for many years.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Mary Susan “Susie” Snidemiller of Berkeley Springs, WV, one niece, Traci Dawn Snidemiller of Berkeley Springs, WV, two very sweet aunts, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Carol Spitzer, brother-in-law Steve Leon Snidemiller.

The family would like to say thank you to a few of Barbara’s special friends, Doris, Pat, Lorraine and David. Services and burial will be private.
