1933-2019

Alonza Arnold “Boone” Daniels, 85, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, February 10, 2019 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born April 18, 1933 in Hancock, he was the son of the late Clarence and Maggie Mae Gloyd Daniels.

He was a member of Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He served with the United States Army during the Korean War.

He retired in June 1988 from the food service department of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He liked fishing, playing cards and walking around town.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Lucille Stotler Daniels, at home; his children, Vicky Rankin and Rita Twigg, both of Berkeley Springs and Christy Smith, Falling Waters; three grandchildren, Steven Keefer and Ronald Rankin III, both of Berkeley Springs and Michael Twigg, Southern Pines, N.C.; four great-grandchildren and several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Poole and one brother, Raymond Daniels.

Memorial services were conducted Saturday, February 16 at Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Jason Disch officiated. Interment was private.

Military honors was provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard.

Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
