Ada Ruth Walls, 86, of Needmore, Pa., formerly of Hancock, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Facility in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born June 25, 1932 in Bedford County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Meon Welch Smith.

She was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Amaranth, Pa.

She attended public schools in Hancock.

She had worked seasonally at Dillon’s Orchard packing house and at Hancock High School cafeteria.

She had been a member of the Hancock Rescue Squad.

She liked watching TV and had been a homemaker in recent years.

She is survived by her children, Mary Barnhart, Needmore, Terry Bishop, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., Elaine Cochran, Hancock, Debra Iden, Great Cacapon, W.Va. and Wayne Bishop, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Brent Bishop on October 31, 1975; her second husband, Lloyd Denton Walls on September 6, 1996; three sisters, Edna Humerick, Emma Brown and Grace Smith and three brothers, John Smith, Harold Smith and Dennis Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 29 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs with Pastor Delmas Bard and Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hancock.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Assembly of God, 3297 Rice Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
