<p>Last Thursday, April 20 the Berkeley Springs Indians baseball team traveled across the Potomac River to play in the baseball version of the “Battle of the Bridge” against the Hancock Panthers. The home team came out strong taking a 1-0 lead after the first inning.</p>
<p>Berkeley Springs then put together two, three run innings in the second and third and then tacked on another four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a comfortable 10-1 lead. Hancock then rallied back scoring four of their own in the bottom of the fourth to cut the score to 10-5. Berkeley Springs would then put the game away in the fifth and sixth inning with five more runs to take the 15-5 run rule win over the pesky Panthers.</p>
<p>Berkeley Springs rapped out 17 hits that was provided throughout the lineup. Leading the way were Jaxon McClintock (RBI), Chance Swink (2-1B&#8217;s, 2B and 3 <span style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;">Runs), Reagan Johnson (2- 1B’ s, 2 Runs and RBI), Devon Faith (1B, 2B, Run and 2 RBI’ s), Garret Stotler (2-1B’ s and 2 Runs), Ben Akers (RBI), Seth Mills (2 Runs), Caleb Stotler (2-1B’s, 2B, 3 Runs and 2 RBI’ s), Cole Oursler (3B, Run and RBI), Kyle Rankin (1B, 2B, 3B, Run and 3 RBI’ s) and Chase Stotler (1B and RBI).</span></p>

<p>On the mound the Indians threw Chance Swink (two innings), Riley Albanese (one inning), Garrett Stotler (three innings and six strikeouts) in the win.</p>
<p>On Saturday, April 22 the Indians hosted the Ron Clatterbuck Invitational. The Indians opened the tournament up playing East Hardy and both teams were tied at 6-6 when the rain finally forced the event to be cancelled.</p>

<p>Last Monday, April 3 the Berkeley Springs Indians baseball team was back in action as they hosted the Hancock Panthers at Morgan Field. The Tribe did not waste any time with the visitors from Maryland and jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning.</p>
<p>Berkeley Springs stretched the lead to 8-0 with three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Indians tacked on additional runs in the bottom of the third and fourth inning to take the 10-0 win over the Panthers.</p>
<p>Offensively, the Indians were led by Chance Swink (two singles and two runs), Reagan Johnson (single), Cole Oursler (single and RBI), Caleb Stotler (double and run), Kyle Rankin (single and RBI), Devon Faith (run), Riley Albanese (RBI), Garrett Stotler (double and two RBI’s) and Isaiah Hutchinson (run).</p>
<p>Chance Swink picked up the win on the mound going three innings and striking out three. Reagan Johnson (two strikeouts) and Caleb Stotler each worked an inning on the mound as well.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, April 5 the Indians traveled to Hedgesville for a game with <span style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;">the Class AAA Eagles Hedgesville jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and from there cruised to a 13-3 win over Berkeley Springs.</span></p>

<p>Up next for Berkeley Springs (2-5) is an away contest on Monday, April 10 at Hampshire starting at 7 p.m. Then on Tuesday, April 11 the Indians will host Keyser at 7 p.m.</p>
