Lady Pirates fall to Hancock and Meadow Bridge

The Paw Paw High School Lady Pirates Varsity Basketball Team was hoping to pick up a couple wins this past week on the hardwood. However, the trip to Hancock last Wednesday, January 24 did not go as planned for the Lady Pirates as the Lady Panthers took a 44-10 win. Then on Saturday, January 27 Paw Paw hosted Meadow Bridge and lost 58-20.

In the 44-10 loss to Hancock the Lady Pirates were led by Elizabeth Henderson (six points and two rebounds), Maristy Crosco (three points and one rebound), Marissa Moreland (one point and five rebounds) and Courtney Moreland (four rebounds).

In the 58-20 loss to Meadow Bridge, the Lady Pirates were led by Henderson (12 points and eight rebounds), Marissa Moreland (five points and six rebounds) and Crosco (three points).

Paw Paw was back in action Monday when they hosted Moorefield on January 29. Tonight, Wednesday, January 31 The Lady Pirates will travel to East Hardy for a 6 p.m. tip off.

The Lady Pirates will be participating in the WV Hometown Invitational tournament at South Charleston on Saturday, February 3.
