School improvement council reports underway

Morgan County Schools have begun their season of local school improvement council presentations, which are held at each school at 6:30 p.m. during the Morgan County School Board’s regular meetings.

Each local school improvement council reports on topics that include school performance, test scores, curriculum, student interventions, academic concerns and needs, the school’s strategic plan and goals, new programs, facility improvements and needs, school climate, communications and grants.

The presentations are expected to last no more than 30 minutes, which includes time for questions from school board members.

The meetings are open to the public and families of students who attend local schools are encouraged to hear the presentations.

Warm Springs Intermediate School’s local school improvement council (LSIC) presentation occurred at the school board’s January 9 meeting.

Warm Springs Middle School’s LSIC presentation was scheduled for their January 23 meeting.

Upcoming local school improvement council meetings will be held at the following places and times:

—Paw Paw Schools, February 6;

—Berkeley Springs High School, February 20;

—Widmyer Elementary, March 6;

—Pleasant View Elementary, March 20.
