Woman charged in fight with brother

A Berkeley Springs woman has been charged with wanton endangerment after allegedly shooting at her brother during a domestic dispute on New Years Day.

According to Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer, Chief John Walter, Deputy Luke Shambaugh and Cpl. Sam Smith of the West Virginia State Police responded at 9:42 p.m. to a property on Eppinger Road for a domestic call involving a firearm.

Diane M. Clarke, 47, was located by officers sitting in her vehicle on the property, which is occupied by her brother. She advised a fight had occurred between she and her brother, Lee Clark.

Bohrer said multiple calls and complaints have been responded to the property since the death of their father, who owned the property.

Diane Clark told officers she was checking the property when her brother came out from one of the buildings on the property he had been staying in.

The two then fought, and the sister told police she fired a shot from her shotgun once into the air.

Her brother told officers that he and his sister had gotten into a physical fight, but that she had shot at him three times and attempted to run over him with her vehicle.

Diane Clark has been charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm, a felony offense.
