Driver pleads guilty in crash that killed local man

A Virginia man has pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the January 2017 deaths of two men who were passengers in his car that crashed in Loudoun County, Va.

David G. Brown, 25, pled guilty to two counts of the felony on November 16 in Loudoun County Circuit Court.

Kyle Youngblood, 29, of Berkeley Springs was killed on impact when Brown crashed his BMW into a tree as he tried to evade police. Another man, Cody Cooling,

27, of Washington, D.C. died when the vehicle caught fire.

Brown also pled guilty to going more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, a misdemeanor. Police said Brown was driving at more than 90 miles per hour prior to the crash. An officer had activated his lights to stop Brown just prior to the crash.

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced for the crimes on February 23, 2018 in Loudoun County Circuit Court.
