Kara L. Brady, 20, and Aleigha Cox, 20, both of Berkeley Springs, were each charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and petit larceny relating to a burglary on November 16 in the Apple Orchard Circle area where firearms were stolen.

Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer arrested Brady and Cox on November 23 with assistance from the Washington County Md. Sheriff’s Department.

The three stolen firearms – a Mossberg 500 pump shotgun, .410 gauge valued at $250; a Remington .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle valued at $50, and a Navy Arms .50 caliber muzzle loader valued at $50 -- were located at a pawn shop in Hagerstown, Md.

Both females face charges in Maryland related to these and other crimes, Bohrer said.

Brady was released from Eastern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Cox is incarcerated at Eastern Regional Jail with bail set at $25,000. Morgan County Magistrate Kermit Ambrose found probable cause and Cox’s case has been moved to Morgan County Circuit Court pending indictment, said Circuit Clerk Melanie Shambaugh on Monday.

Cox was previously arrested on November 17 for delivery of a controlled substance after Morgan County Sheriff’s Department Dep. Luke A. Shambaugh responded to an overdose in a vehicle on U.S. 522. The driver, Randy Cubbage, admitted to taking a capsule with heroin in it that was given to him by Cox, his passenger.
