Man charged with dealing heroin

James A. Brooks, 23, of South Green Street, in Berkeley Springs was arrested on Thursday, November 2 and charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver heroin.

“We have been watching him for a while,” Town of Bath Police Chief T.J. Johnson said on Monday. Officers allege that Brooks has been selling illegal substances from his apartment.

Officers found over $1,700 in cash, drugs, a shotgun and two pistols at the residence when they executed a search warrant at the residence. In addition to heroin, police located a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana during the search.

Patrolman Tony Link and K-9 Ronan were assisted by the Morgan County Sheriffs Department and the West Virginia State Police in Berkeley Springs.

Brooks has been released on bail from the Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg.
