Nighttime paving to begin on U.S. 522 North

The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists of upcoming delays on U.S. Route 522 in Morgan County beginning Sunday night, November 5.

This is necessary for a resurfacing project involving paving, shoulder stone and rumble strips. Work will start at the northern Berkeley Springs city limits near Legion Street and will continue north on U.S. 522 for 2.83 miles toward the Maryland state line.

Delays can be expected from 7 p.m. till 5 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday morning. Work will continue the week of November 12 until completed.

P & W Excavating will be performing the work at a cost of $905,889.44

Traffic will be under the direction of flaggers and a pilot truck. Motorists are advised to travel with caution through the work zone.

I travel that route quite

I travel that route quite often and the roadway seems to be in pretty good shape. I think there are many other roadways in Morgan County that could use the repairs before this is done!!
