“Eat Out For Hunger” November 7

Morgan County Starting Points volunteers. Morgan County Starting Points volunteers. This year “Eat Out For Hunger” will be held on Tuesday, November 7 with a portion proceeds being donated to support the Meal Time Community Kitchen at Starting Points. In 2016, 19,700 meals were served to those struggling with food resources.

The Berkeley Springs area is known for its restaurants and Morgan County Starting Points is known for providing three hot meals a week to area families needing a hand. Once a year, these two community assets come together to provide residents and visitors the rare opportunity to help people in Morgan County while dining with friends and family.

The list of participating local restaurants can be found at www.starting-points.org or by calling 304-258-5600.

“Eat Out For Hunger” is held each November in addition to the Empty Bowls event which will be held on Friday, November 17 at Berkeley Springs High School.

Empty Bowls is a different evening for which potters and other craftspeople, educators and volunteers work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests can have a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, the guest keeps the bowl as a reminder of the empty bowls in the world. A silent auction, raffles and door prizes will be held during the event.
