Moore is county’s new Assistant Prosecutor


Courtney Moore Courtney Moore Attorney Courtney Moore has been hired as the county’s new assistant prosecutor, working alongside Prosecuting Attorney Dan James.

Moore started in the office on October 2 after shadowing Ray Boyce, the outgoing assistant prosecutor.

Moore is a graduate of West Virginia University, both as an undergraduate and law student. She majored in criminology and interned with a circuit judge in Monongalia County before graduating and joining a law firm where she worked civil cases.

In the post as Morgan County’s assistant prosecutor, Moore will argue the state’s position in the majority of misdemeanor cases in Magistrate Court. She anticipates taking on abuse and neglect cases in the future, as well.

Moore lives in Martinsburg with her husband. She is a 2007 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and is the daughter of local residents Kent and Terry Kesecker.

“It’s nice to be able to make an impact in the community where I grew up,” Moore said.
