Morgan County Sheriff’s Report


Sheriff KC Bohrer reports the following calls, investigations and reports for October 1-7:

October 1

Deputy Roper investigated a sexual abuse report at Catawba Club.

Cpl. Lemon investigated a breaking and entering on Eppinger Road.

Cpl. Lemon assisted a motorist on Valley Road.

Cpl. Lemon investigated a second offense driving suspended on Martinsburg Road.

October 2

Cpl. Barney, Deputy Jenkins, Chief Walter and Sheriff Bohrer arrested Christopher E. Long, 39, on outstanding warrants from Hardy County.

Sgt. Shambaugh responded to a complaint on station. Situation involved a right of way and civil. No action.

Cpl. Barney investigated a sexual assault report on Jim West Road.

Chief Walter responded to a domestic report at North Washington Street. Verbal only.

Chief Walter responded to a domestic report on Apple Orchard Circle. Verbal only.

Deputy Barney investigated a one vehicle property damage only crash on River Road.

Deputy Jenkins spoke with subjects on a child custody issue. Advised of civil options.

October 3

Sheriff Bohrer investigated a leaving the scene of a property damage collision at Morgan Square.

Lt. Place investigated a domestic at Berkeley Springs High School. Referral made to CPS.

Sgt. Shambaugh handled a truancy complaint on Blazer Lane. Referred to PRO Cpl. Barney.

Lt. Place investigated an assault on Kentucky Lane.

Lt. Place investigated a possession on controlled substance at 7-11.

Deputy Roper investigated a larceny on Swallow Place.

Chief Walter responded to War Memorial Hospital for overdose call.

Deputy Jenkins performed a K-9 check at War Memorial Hospital.

October 4

Sheriff Bohrer, Chief Walter, Captain Stapleton and Lt. Place search for and located a lost hiker in the mountain. Subject located.

Deputy Roper handled a PayPal scam.

Deputy Roper investigated a larceny on Swallow Place

Cpl. Lemon investigated a three-car traffic collision on South Washington Street. Property damage only.

October 5

Sheriff Bohrer arrested Heather Teeter, 24, for second offense shoplifting from Dollar General Store.

Cpl. Lemon handled threats call on station.

Cpl. Lemon responded to a domestic on River Road. Verbal only.

Cpl. Barney handled an incorrigible student issue at Warm Springs Intermediate School.

October 6

Cpl. Lemon responded to a 911 hang-up call on Magnificent Lane. Unfounded.

Cpl. Barney investigated a possession of controlled substance on Harrison Avenue.

Deputy Jenkins arrested Beth Anne Sipes, unknown age, by summons for shoplifting at Dollar General Store in Berkeley Springs.

Deputy Jenkins investigated a two vehicle crash on Concord Avenue.

October 7

Deputies J. Lebo and D.M. Jenkins investigated a malicious wounding on North Washington Street. Betsy J. Jordan, 53, was arrested for one count of malicious wounding.

Sgt. Shambaugh responded to a reckless driving complaint on Valley Road. Elderly subject needed assistance.

Sgt. Shambaugh handled a suspicious circumstance complaint on Oriental Circle. Follow-up investigation to be conducted.

Deputy Jenkins, Deputy Lebo and Cpl. McDonald WVSP responded to a large fight at Mountaineer Bar & Grill. Fight dispersed and bar shut down.

Deputy Jenkins performed K9 search on Timber Ridge Road. CDS paraphernalia located.

Deputy Lebo responded to a domestic on Willie Mays Court. Verbal only.

Felony arrests five, misdemeanor arrest three, traffic citations 17, traffic warnings 18, criminal investigations eight, traffic collisions investigated five, alarms responded to one, transports two, legal process served 43, legal process attempted 23, special details three, home confinement checks three and complaints not needing a report 58.
