Bath Police awarded grant

by Trish Rudder

A $20,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was obtained by Bath Police Patrolman Tony Link for the town police department. The funding will be used to replace desk top computers, mobile laptops for the cruisers and software training for cellphone evidence recovery, Link said.

Building permit OK’d

At the October 3 council meeting a building permit was approved for Doug and Donna Hoffman at 175 Congress Street for exterior renovations. The work is to be done by the owners.

BDA has new member

Ron Martin, Bath Development Authority (BDA) president said that City Bank Manager Allison Lankford wants to become a member of the BDA. Martin said she could not attend the meeting but she did submit a letter.

Mayor Scott Merki said her letter could not be downloaded for the council members to review. Councilman Swaim suggested Lankford could go ahead and participate in the BDA and “we will see her or read her letter at the next meeting.”
