Lady Indians take second place at Berkeley Springs Invitational

The course which has always been the home course for the Berkeley Springs meets is challenging and brings out the best in the runners. This year the event hosted eight girls’ teams and 10 boy’s teams.

The Lady Indians Cross Country Team was able to finish in second place overall with 60 points. Berkeley Springs was without senior standout runner Stephanie Golden who was out due to an illness.

The Lady Indians were led by junior Brooke Davison (fifth place, 22:25), freshman Belle Harvey (sixth place, 22:27) and senior Amanda Lupton (seventh place, 22:35) who all finished in the top 10 of the individual results. Berkeley Springs also got top 25 places from freshman Taylor Mason (22nd place, 25:29), junior Alex Banks (24th place, 25:32.73), and sophomore Kierstyn Wise (25th place, 25:32.95).


Belle Harvey finished sixth with a time of 22:27. Belle Harvey finished sixth with a time of 22:27. On the boys side, the Indians finished in ninth place overall with 241 points. The Tribe only had one runner finish in the top 15 as senior Logan Heironimus (14th place, 18:44) earned the spot. Dylan Wise (64th place, 21:50), Dylan Carder (67th place, 22:13), Davy Mundey (76th place, 22:33), Matthew Slovinsky (81st place, 22:52), Jeremiah Torres (82nd place, 22:53) and Landen Riggleman (83rd place, 22:53) all competed for Berkeley Springs.

Paw Paw had two runners complete the course as well as freshman Dominic Tanouye finished in 35th place with a time of 19:54. Dylan Moreland finished in 86th place with a time of 23:28.

Berkeley Springs will be back in action this week when they participate in the Musselman Invitational on today, Wednesday, September 20 at 6 p.m.

Paw Paw will be back in action on Thursday, September 21 when they participate in the Small Schools Mountain

Athletic Conference meet in Accident, Md. at Northern Garrett High School.
