Free film screening of “Pipeline Fighters”

The Eastern Panhandle Protectors will present the film “Pipeline Fighters” on Wednesday, September 20 at 7 p.m. at the New Earth Granary in Berkeley Springs.

The film is the project of Marino Colmano of Blacksburg.

“Pipeline Fighters” has won several honors, including an Award of Excellence from Impact DOCS Film Festival in La Jolla, CA, and was a semi-finalist at the Los Angeles CineFest.

The film tells the story of the growing resistance to the fossil fuel industry and their use of eminent domain and other tactics to build more pipelines. Although the story is about the Mountain Valley Pipeline, many will recognize the same issues in the Eastern Panhandle with the proposed TransCanada pipeline coming from Maryland, under the Potomac, to join with the Mountaineer Gas Company’s pipeline through Morgan and Berkeley counties to Jefferson County when it is complete.

Light refreshments will be available, and a discussion will follow the free 90 minute feature film.
