The fourth annual Historic Gala for the Museum of the Berkeley Springs is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12. Savory tidbits and water turned to something sparkly add more fun to friendly conversations with historical characters including Rosa Suit from Berkeley Castle and James Rumsey’s sister. Guests are encouraged to join in the tradition of wearing their own vintage costumes or hats.

Betty Lou Harmison, a museum founder and Berkeley Springs' most famous hostess welcomes guests to the museum at 6:30 p.m.

The new item at the Museum on display this year is a refurbished James Rumsey exhibit which first appeared in 1984. Rumsey’s sister will say a few words about the famed inventor and his accomplishments.

The Historic Gala in Berkeley Springs is a benefit for the Museum of the Berkeley Springs. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office on Fairfax Street and at the museum, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Berkeley Springs State Park on weekends. Tickets may also be purchased online: museumoftheberkeleysprings.com.
