Sheriff KC Bohrer reports the following calls, investigations and reports for August 20-26:

August 20

Deputy Luke Shambaugh arrested Keith J. Alban for possession with intent to deliver controlled substances.

Deputy Roper investigated a property damage collision on Valley Road.

Deputy Jenkins investigated a property damage collision on Hancock Road.

Deputy Roper investigated a burglary on Trevor Drive.

Deputy Roper responded to an alarm on Fairfax Street. All secure.

Deputy Luke Shambaugh responded to possible drug activity Food lion parking lot. Area patrolled.

August 21

Captain Stapleton investigated an adult financial abuse on Martinsburg Road.

Captain Stapleton investigated a financial exploitation on South Washington Street.

Deputy Jenkins investigated a property damage collision on River Road.

Sgt. Shambaugh responded to a welfare check on Mercer Street. All was well.

Chief Walter responded to a hit & run collision on WV 9 with Deputy Jenkins.

Deputy Jenkins responded to a domestic on Winchester Grade Road. Advised of options.

August 22

Sgt. Shambaugh handled a trespassing complaint with CSX.

August 23

Sheriff Bohrer and Chief Walter responded to a neighbor dispute on Laurel Avenue.

Cpl. Scott Lemon arrested John M. Unger, 34, on a capias.

Deputy Luke Shambaugh and Sheriff Bohrer arrested Kolt A. Mellott, 34, for sexual assault 1st degree.

Cpl. Lemon responded to an abandoned vehicle in the highway on Posey Hollow Road. Vehicle towed.

Cpl. Lemon investigated a sexual assault at hospital. Occurred in Berkeley County.

Deputy Roper responded to Bennett Lane reference possible phone scam.

Deputy Roper handled a landlord-tenant complaint on Mable Lane.

August 24

Sheriff Bohrer investigated to used car dealers for failing to provide “Buyer’s Protection” certificates as required by state and federal law.

Chief Walter and Captain Stapleton responded to a suspicious subject call at a seasonal home in Largent. Further investigation pending.

Captain Stapleton investigated an estate theft in Paw Paw area.

Deputy Roper recovered stolen property at the Trading Post on an investigation.

Deputy Roper responded to a hit and run collision on Spriggs Road.

Deputy Luke Shambaugh and Deputy Roper responded to a suspicious person on Coughlin Lane. Subject ran but stolen wire recovered from Frontier. Investigation pending.

August 25

Lt. Place responded to a domestic in the 9000 block of Valley Road. Verbal.

Deputy Jenkins responded to a harassment complaint on Tuscarora Trail. Advised of options.

August 26

Chief Walter and Deputy Jenkins investigated a traffic collision on Sand Mine Road and Fairview drive.

Chief Walter assisted Martinsburg Police in attempting to locate a stolen vehicle on Meadow Lane.

Chief Walter responded to an assault complaint on Valley Road in the 6000 block.

Chief Walter responded to 5000 block of Highland Ridge Road.

Deputy Jenkins responded to a disturbance on Valley Road. Subjects separated for wellbeing.

Citations 22, written warnings 31, felony arrests two, misdemeanor arrests two, process served 19, process attempted 18, transports six, traffic collisions six, criminal investigations seven, alarms three, home confinement checks seven, revocation one and complaints not requiring a written report 50.
