Iva Lou Beddow


Iva Lou Neely Beddow, age 81, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born March 27, 1936 in the Rock Gap area of Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bernard and Fern Katherine Goller Neely.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs. Iva Lou attended public schools in Morgan County and retired in 1998, after 27 years of service, as a bus driver with Morgan County

Public Schools. She had served as the President of the West Virginia School Service Personnel Association. She and her husband owned and operated Beddow’s Septic Service since 1964. Iva Lou loved to sunbathe and vacation in Ocean City, Md. She had been a homemaker in recent years.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Floyd Chester Beddow, at home; her children, Constance Ann Stotler, Annette Katherine Beddow, Malinda Lou Ayers and her husband Mark and Kimberly Dawn Reed and her husband Mike, all of Berkeley Springs; seven grandchildren, Nikki Reynolds, Bradley Stotler, Josh Reed, Kyle Ayers, Shonda Clark, Collin Ayers and Hannah Reed, all of Berkeley Springs; six great grandchildren and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dale Stotler on August 1, 2007.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith and Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Interment was in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family received friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
