Still serving with honor

Dear Editor:

I appreciate the chronicle of the “Tri-State Honor Guard” published June 28. Tri-State Honor Guard has 15 members, many of them were pictured in the photograph taken when the mobile Vietnam Memorial Wall was at Alderton-Dawson Post 60. Those not pictured are Rev. Jeff Hawbaker, our bugler of “Taps” Mike Nairn firing party member and Gerald Widmyer, the keeper of the American Legion Colors. Our members hail from Webster B. Harrison Post 26, Hancock; Joseph C. Herbert Post 222, Clear Spring, Md., and Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) from Post 60 & 26. Each and every member plays an important role within the Honor Guard; but for their dedication and commitment the Honor Guard would stumble. All of these veterans still serve our county, our community and their fellow veterans. Each one of these gentlemen have embraced me with welcoming arms. I am humbly honored to be part of the “Tri- State Honor Guard. These men, these veterans, these gentlemen I affectionately call “my boys” and I couldn’t be prouder to be their Legion Lady.
