Expo had true local flavor

The Morgan County Expo spilled over with local spirit last weekend. Tables were filled with arts and crafts, vegetables and baked goods made by local hands. Other displays showed off local businesses and community groups. Visitors got armfuls of goodies – from information about local services to free giveaways and prizes.

Games for kids, music, learning stations and booths lived up to organizers’ promise to show Morgan County at its best, and offer something for everyone. Fair-goers also got to try out a bus used in the new Berkeley Springs bus service – another new plus in our community.

As the former county fair has shifted to the new Expo format, a legion of volunteers and groups stepped up to do the literal heavy lifting required to put on such an event. We applaud their energy and their efforts. The Expo really was a celebration of the many facets of Morgan County life, and a chance to see friends and neighbors doing what they do best.
