Dale R. Davis

1942-2017

Dale Roy Davis, 75, of Berkeley Springs, died on Monday, July 17, 2017 at War Memorial Hospital.

Born March 4, 1942 in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Donald Roy and Evelyn Virginia Ayersman Davis.

He was a Christian.

He attended public schools in Allegany County, Md.

He then served, for 20 years, in the U. S. Navy with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion #133, Gulfport, Miss.

He worked in law enforcement as a Morgan County Deputy Sheriff and also served as the Chief of Police for The Town of Bath.

He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Council #117 and was active with Senior Life Services, both in Berkeley Springs.

He liked hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Davis, Great Cacapon; one brother, Donald Davis, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Jeremy Davis and Steven Kyne, both of Berkeley Springs, Thomas Murphy, Jr. and James Davis, both of Great Cacapon; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Davis Kyne on October 20, 2015.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 21, noon at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, where friends may call from 10 a.m. -noon. Pastor Hilda Snyder will officiate.

Interment with military honors provided by the Tri- State Honor Guard will be at 2 p.m. on Friday in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
