Rosie M. Spielman

1927-2017

Rosie Mae Twigg Spielman, 89, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born August 2, 1927 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Adam Kaylor and Alice Virginia Farris Gloyd.

She was a member of Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She attended the Woodmont School in Great Cacapon.

She retired as a presser from Londontown Manufacturing Company, Hancock and also had worked as a cook at The Country Inn and Coolfont, she worked in the deli department at Food Lion.

She liked baking and reading.

She is survived by her children, Virginia Michael, Hagerstown, Md., Sandra Souders, Hancock, Connie Cain, Linda Robinson and Henry Twigg, all of Berkeley Springs and Rosemarie Twigg, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one half-sister, Virginia Strosnider, Winchester, Va.; four half-brothers, Roy Gloyd, Albert Gloyd and Ray Gloyd, all of Great Cacapon and George Gloyd, Barberton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, Julie Easterday, Clear Spring, Md., Christy Lewis and Terry Cain, both of Greencastle, Pa., Michelle Shank and Angela Smith, both of Warfordsburg, Pa., Daniel Souders II, Little Orleans, Md., Tye Souders, Hilton Head Island, S.C., Robert Cain, Aiken, S.C., Scott Cain, Hedgesville, W.Va., Jenny Sipe and Kelly Michael, both of Berkeley Springs, Philip Sears, Jr., Abingdon, Md., Michael Sears, Baltimore, Md., Brandon Twigg, Morgantown, W.Va., Justin Twigg and Michael Twigg, both of Inwood, W.Va., Aaron Twigg, Fairview, Ill. and Shannon Combs, Martinsburg, W.Va.; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Kenneth Twigg; her second husband, Belford Spielman; three children, Joan Sears, Steven Twigg and David Twigg; two granddaughters, Jennifer Twigg and Bonnie Robinson; two sisters, Beulah Mawyer and Lena Cowgill; three brothers, Charles Gloyd, Raymond Gloyd and Alonza Gloyd and several half-sisters and half-brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 27 at Helsley Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Chuck Bergen officiated. Interment was in Greenway Cemetery.
