Ralph G. Wolfinger, Sr.


Ralph Gerald Wolfinger, Sr., 72, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home.

Born May 9, 1945 in Boonsboro, Md., he was the son of the late Earl Bailey and Anna Myrtle Williams Wolfinger.

He was a Christian.

He was a graduate of Middletown, Md. High School and served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He had worked as a truck driver with North-South Trucking, Taylor’s Milk Transport, Horst Milk Transport and Abbott’s Well Drilling in Fairplay, Md. He also was a farmer.

He was a member of Potomac American Legion Post # 202 in Williamsport, Md., Risinger-Stotler V.F.W. Post #4019 in Berkeley Springs and was a life member of the D.A.V. in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and was very much into animal husbandry.

Surviving are his wife, Terry Lee Bowers Wolfinger of Berkeley Springs; his children, Robert Wolfinger, Greencastle, Pa., Ralph Wolfinger, Jr., Martinsburg and Roy Wolfinger, Williamsport, Md.; his stepchildren, Bobbie Bowers, Hagerstown and Jesse Bowers, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Sussie McCammon, Falling Waters, W.Va. and Mary Smith, Rouzersville, Pa.; one brother, Russell Wolfinger, Boonsboro, Md.; 14 grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Wolfinger.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 23, at Helsley- Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.

Services and interment will be private.
