Burdock graduates from WVU School of Pharmacy

Jennifer Burdock Jennifer Burdock Jennifer Burdock of Berkeley Springs was awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.

Burdock is the daughter of Richard and Donna Burdock. She is a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

While studying at the WVU School of Pharmacy, Burdock served as president of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhAASP), the community service events co-coordinator of the Alpha Eta chapter of the Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) national pharmacy leadership society and the Relay for Life team co-coordinator for the Alpha Omicron chapter of the Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) international professional pharmacy fraternity.

She was also a member of the WVU chapter of the American Society of Health- System Pharmacists-Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP-SSHP). She served as a committee member of the APhA-ASP National Focus Group and is currently serving a two-year term as a committee member for the APhA-ASP Books and Electronic Products Advisory Board.

She was the winner of the 2015 APhA Patient Counseling school-level competition. Burdock presented her research poster, “Ertapenem Use Before and After Implementation of a Best Practice Alert,” at the 2016 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition in Las Vegas. She also served as a student representative for the West Virginia Pharmacists Association.

Burdock was a recipient of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Education Foundation Scholarship and the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Leadership Scholarship. She was the recipient of the bronze level President’s Volunteer Service Award for completing over 100 hours of service to the community.

Burdock also received Dean’s list honors. At graduation, Burdock was the recipient of the Dean’s Volunteer Service Award.

She will be completing a pharmacy practice residency with the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, Va.
